Scripture:
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." – 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
Observation:
The Greek word for "faith" in this verse is pistis, which conveys the idea of trust, belief, and unwavering confidence in God. It is not merely intellectual agreement but a deep reliance on His character and promises. In the biblical context, faith is active and relational—it is placing one’s complete trust in God even when tangible evidence is absent. Walking by faith, then, is a spiritual journey of surrender, where we trust that God is leading us, even when we cannot see the full picture.
Application:
There was a season in my life when I couldn’t see the way forward—when every option seemed uncertain, and I felt lost. I remember praying desperately, asking God for clarity. I had to trust Him fully because there was no clear evidence of how things would work out. It was like stepping into the fog, one small step at a time, holding onto His promises. Looking back, I see how He guided me and provided exactly what I needed. That experience strengthened my faith, showing me that even when I can’t see, He can.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for teaching me to trust You even when I cannot see the way ahead. Strengthen my faith to rely on Your promises and character. Help me to walk forward in confidence, knowing that You are always with me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Today, reflect on one area in your life where you need to let go of control and trust God’s unseen plan. Take a step of faith in that area.
